The Man Of Money

In a vibrant city of skyscrapers lived a businessman named Daniel. He was always thinking of his profits and his money. He hadn't done anything that didn't profit himself. Ding dong! The bell of Daniel's door rang. His neighbour, Bob, had come to ask for some books. "Hey Daniel, I know I've been bothering you today but can I have those coding books you've got? I'll give them back by next week," Bob asked. "You've never given me anything, Bob. Now you're asking for the books I paid to read?" Daniel said coldly. Bob sighed and gave up. He silently went back into his house. "Hmm... those pesky kids need to pay for using my papers... and that woman who took my apple... I can't forget the other employee who used my pen." Daniel's head was racing. So many people asked him for things and never repay them. It was time for his daily walk. He went down the elevator with a grouchy face. Everyone knew Daniel. Some kept their distance from him, while others tried to be sympathetic. Ignoring the children’s candies and a dog that panted happily at him, he walked down the road with his phone glued to his eyes. He was checking his salary updates. Suddenly, a car honked loudly and screeched. As Daniel looked up, he saw a black honking car racing towards him. He tried to slow down but it wasn't working. The car hit Daniel in his stomach with a huge force. He smelt burnt rubber. That's the last thing Daniel encountered before collapsing and blacking out. Daniel woke up to see the white ceiling of a hospital room. He was on a bed, heavily bandaged. He couldn't understand anything. How was he here? "Oh, you're awake? Hope you're feeling better now, Daniel!" a cheery, familiar voice said. He looked around from his bed. He could see Bob, his neighbour. Daniel was too surprised to utter even a word. Bob smiled. "Th... Thank you," Daniel gasped, "for saving my life." Why did Bob help him? He is a good man. Daniel has been mean and he was just being himself. He helped me. He saved my life. And Daniel couldn’t even lend some books. His mindset had to change. He had to learn from his easygoing neighbor on how to be a human being.
